Aegean ASV3

 

With 25 years of experience in robotic systems and 15 years of experience in the manufacture and development of autonomous RC boats, in collaboration with the Archipelagos Marine Research Institute, we have build the first autonomous surface vehicle ASV AEGEAN ASV3 in Greece.

AEGEAN ASV3 is equipped with outboard DC motor for easy control with high torque and very low consumption even at maximum cruising speed. It has the capacity of large payload allowing to operator to install a large number of sensors, sonars, etc . Also its very easy and autonomous handling to effectively deal with hydrographic surveys in shallow waters or in difficult areas and at places where conventional boats they do not have this possibility.

With automatic AEGEAN ASV3 GPS navigation module, we have the option to monitor its mission through telemetry and many other parameters such as battery voltage, consumption, remaining battery capacity, distance, coordinates, etc, and of course the route of the boat course on a basic map of the research area through our computer screen or tablet and while it is in use, both in automatic and manual, at distances up to 10km. Also, the operator through the base station has the ability to design the ship's mission with more than 100 points or to redesign and cancel the mission even during its operation. The AEGEAN ASV3 has two bow and stern cameras and transmit in real-time, image and sound to the base station, allowing the operator to monitor everything that's going on in the course of the boat.

Switching from automatic to manual is done very simply by pressing a button on the RC and with the help of the camera or the route data shown on the map of our computer, we can manually drive the boat to the desired course . However, as there is a risk of obstacles such as coastlines, harbors, buoys, etc., the AEGEAN ASV3 is equipped with an obstacle avoidance sonar to automatically prevent the collision with the above.
